Bel Air’s restaurant portfolio, impressive as it is, is continuing to grow with the opening of a new Downtown Bel Air restaurant at 119 S Main Street.

Owned and operated by Baltimore’s Blue Agave, Black Eyed Suzie’s offers an American cuisine with a focus on Maryland-influenced seafood and barbecue.

The familiar location of 119 S Main Street has been a home to many restaurants in the past, Main Street Oyster House being the most recent. What gives confidence to owner Brian Acquavella? The diverse menu selection is one answer. Also, the owners believe chef Jacob Nelson’s talent is going to be a great fit for the Bel Air community.

The Bel Air Downtown Alliance has recently completed a Market Study in partnership with the Town of Bel Air and the Harford County Government. One of the key findings from the study was that Bel Air’s growing thirst for nightlife experiences opens the doors for many more restaurants in Bel Air.

“The most successful business models, whether it’s a retail or a restaurant business, seek to offer an experience and that’s what Black Eyed Suzie’s has set out to do,” said Roman Davidyuk, Marketing Director for the Bel Air Downtown Alliance. A new take on the historical building with the character of classic brick walls and open rafters mixed with the modern amenities of a brand new restaurant is just what 119 S Main Street needed.
